If you asked us for a list of things we look forward to in the winter, we promise that summer would be at the top of the list. And let's be real, summer is WAY too far away. Raise your hand if you ever find yourself Googling tropical getaways on your lunch break...GUILTY! Whether it's for a weekend or week, we all deserve some R&R and a friendly dose of Vitamin D. Here are just a few spring break destinations we can't stop thinking about.
The Bahamas is only a few hours away and somewhere every New Yorker needs to go visit. When you book your trip, make sure you stop by Pig Island and snap a photo of you swimming with the piggies. Yes, this is a real thing and it is amazing. Then, after your much-needed pina colada, head over to Isla Harbour to see the most beautiful beach. Spoiler alert: The sand is an unreal shade of pink.
U.S VIRGIN ISLANDS
As an American territory, travel to the Virgin Islands does not require a passport for American citizens who are travellng from any part of the United States. Embark on a cute little sailboat right at the airport and cruise over Saint John's Island. See the island from a local's perspective by wandering the beautiful town. As the sun begins to set, wind down with a chilled glass of Prosecco in your villa on the water. Literally, on-the-water.
Last but definitely not least is Columbia. We recommend you come here if you have a few extra days to spare so you can fully embrace its beauty. There is something about all of the history in Cartegena that will blow your mind. Thankfully, South America is located in the southern hemisphere so it is summer here during our winter. Can you say perfect timing?
